KALAMUNDA ‘National park’ Swimpond

This area previously housed an old fibreglass pool that was already removed before we first visited. The owners were going to fill it in and they found us and discovered that a swimming pond would be a great alternative and give them 24/7/365 pleasure.

Their Grandkids love it and visit regularly, calling it their private national park pool!

There was already a collapsed part-excavation here from the old fibreglass pool being removed that we worked around. Construction of this swimming pond includes a near vertical stone clad wall on one side in front of the deck to maximise depth with minimum wall footprint. The wall is built with limestone blocks but is clad in the same rock we used to build the swimming pond so it fits right in. The wall even has underwater lights set into it.

Something Interesting

The owners wanted to take advantage of the steep slope with a feature waterfall. How good is it? Especially in the evening when it’s all lit up.
